# Group descriptions and invitation list feedback — local repair

The group editor saved its description, but the group card read the wrong field and displayed “No description provided.” Sending an invitation also left the old pending list visible; reloading revealed the invitation, with “N/A” in Sent Date.

The current group card and search use the canonical `data.description`, with a legacy fallback. Sending, resending and cancelling an invitation force the invitation list to reload. Sent Date reads `createdate`, falling back to older created-at fields.

## Evidence

- Group description persisted in the editor before repair: [capture08](assets/local-roles/08-description-present-in-editor.png).
- Description displayed on the cards after the repaired Studio restarted: [capture14](assets/local-roles/14-group-description-fixed.png).
- Nora’s Sales-only invitation was sent once. The pending row appeared without a page reload and showed its sent date: [capture23](assets/local-roles/23-invitation-immediate-refreshed-date.png), [visible text](assets/local-roles/23-invitation-immediate-refreshed-date.txt).
- [Six actual store-method checks](assets/local-roles/invitation-refresh-tests.txt) passed. They exercise successful and failed send/resend/cancel calls, including replacement of cached invitation data.

Live resend and cancellation have not been repeated solely to test this UI repair; those branches have method-level tests. No unrelated recipient received a message. The separate [invitation grant repair](invitation-grants.md) covers what happens when the colleague accepts.

## Changed application files

Relative to `websitemint/packages/ui/src/components/user-management/`:

- `modern-user-groups.tsx`
- `modern-invitations.tsx`
- `user-management-store.ts`

The roles course remains open until its allowed edit, refused action, approval and access-change exercises are finished.
