# Learner review — Build a business website

**Local required walkthrough passed, 19 September 2026.** Course: [Build a business website people can explore and contact](../course-content/appmint-build-a-business-website.md). Own learner Jordan Morgan, Cedar & Form, organisation `cedar-local-mu8892bk`, site `cedsite`. Studio 0.6.2 and local AppEngine; anonymous website via an isolated copy of the real base-app renderer using this organisation's own registered application. No demo data or production writes.

## Findings corrected in the course

- WEB01-001, missing learner account: resolved through the genuine own signup prerequisite and authenticated actions above.
- WEB01-002, incorrect phone screenshot: replaced with actual narrow editor capture07; retained independent public430/320 checks.
- Homepage selection moved to **Site Config → Pages → Home page → Save changes**; replaced the obsolete Info instruction.
- Fresh sign-in can have no Active Site selected. Added Choose a site before looking for its controls.
- Description/Keywords save now names the toolbar Save and explicit close/reopen check. Updated title explanation to observed current local result.
- History View loads a snapshot on the canvas. Opening History from that snapshot yielded Nothing here. Added clear return through All Pages/Edit, without saving merely to exit the snapshot.
- Replaced older production screenshots/fixture identifiers with this local learner's actual evidence. The production companion brief now uses the same scene sequence and evidence.

## Boundaries and observations

The core lesson makes and checks a two-page website. It explicitly leaves a full custom-domain connection and a destructive restore demonstration as optional later footage: no controlled custom domain was available, and neither Connect nor Restore was submitted. No DNS, public production site, email inbox, CRM lead, booking or payment was changed. `hello@cedarandform.example` is deliberate fiction, not a working inbox. No new video recordings were made.

A recovered Home screen displayed Custom domains “Not on this plan”; this conflicts with the user's stated free-product policy and was reported to root for platform-wide follow-up. After a coordinated server restart its usage panel temporarily showed Usage is not available right now; that is not evidence of a domain connection failure. Domain submission was not tested by this lesson.

The browser/server crashed during the broader review. Own account was signed in again through the actual password form; saved page records and metadata remained. A coordinated Studio restart occurred with no unsaved edits. Captures34 and35 are rejected transient states, not instructional evidence. Capture36 is the inspected visible domain field. The public renderer remained live and final metadata was independently read again.

No application source changes were needed for the required website steps in this pass. Capture automation used actual editor input and visible application actions; public checks read the resulting saved records.

Follow-up control check: Site Config opens the current editor with **Identity → Title**; actual enabled input read `cedsite` (37-site-title-control). No rename or save performed. Corrected the remaining old Info label in the metadata advice.
