Troubleshooting

Connection, capture and sync problems, in the order worth checking.

It says not connected

The extension checks the platform's health endpoint with your organization. A failure is credentials or network, not capture.

1. Is the organization right? A typo in orgid fails everything, and the error looks like a network problem rather than a wrong value.

2. Is the API key valid? Keys can be revoked or blocklisted. Try issuing a fresh one.

3. Is the base URL right? Normally https://appengine.appmint.io. A trailing path or a stale development address will not connect.

4. Can this network reach the platform? Open the base URL in a tab.

Credentials will not sync from Studio

The detector reads the active session from the page. It fails when:

  • You are not actually signed in — open Studio and confirm.
  • You are on a different domain than the one the detector runs on. It covers Appmint-hosted admin domains and localhost.
  • The session is incomplete — it needs both an organization and a token. Sign out and back in.

Re-open the Studio tab to trigger a re-sync, or use manual sync from the extension.

Capture returns nothing

On LinkedIn — capture reads rendered text. If the page has not finished loading, or you have not scrolled to the results, there is nothing to read. Scroll first, then capture.

On Google Maps — capture reads specific elements. If Maps has changed its layout, use the selector helper (Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + S) to identify what moved, and report it so the extractor can be re-pointed.

On either — confirm you are on a supported page. Profile, search and company pages on LinkedIn; a listing or result list on Maps.

Captures are not appearing in the CRM

1. Is auto-sync off? Then they are pending in the browser and need syncing.

2. Is the connection healthy? A capture with no connection cannot save.

3. Are you looking in the right pipeline? If no default pipeline is set, leads may not be where you expect.

4. Check for duplicates. A lead matching an existing record may have merged rather than created a new row.

The side panel will not open

Confirm the extension is pinned and enabled at chrome://extensions. If you loaded it unpacked and moved or deleted the folder, Chrome disables it — reload from its current location.

It stopped working after a Chrome update

Unpacked extensions are disabled when their folder moves or Developer mode is turned off. Re-enable Developer mode and reload the extension.

Leads captured but I have lost them

If auto-sync was off and the extension's data was cleared, pending leads are gone — they lived only in the browser. Turn auto-sync on so this cannot recur.

Getting help

Have ready: your organization id, whether you connected by API key or session sync, the URL you were capturing, and whether the connection check passes.
